J-PAL MENA at AUC is pleased to host the Jobs for Development (J4D) conference on October 8-9, at The American University in Cairo, Egypt.

The event will feature keynote speakers Dr. Hanan Morsy, Deputy Executive Secretary and Chief Economist at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and Visiting Scholar at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; and Professor David Lam, Department of Economics Research, Population Studies Center, Institute for Social Research University of Michigan.

The conference is co-organized by The World Bank, UNU-WIDER - United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research, International Labour Organization, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Development Policy Research Unit, IBS - Institute for Structural Research and HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies.

This significant event will bring together leading researchers and policymakers to address critical challenges in labor markets in low—and middle-income countries.
