Description
This competition was created to honor the brilliant entrepreneurs and innovators from the Arab region who have achieved impressive success despite their disabilities and can become role models for others. This challenge aims to promote and recognize the creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation of people with disabilities in the Arab business community. We are looking for SMEs in all industries that were founded by people with physical or mental disabilities and have made a significant contribution in their industry.
We invite all impressive entrepreneurs and innovators with disabilities from the Arab region to join this competition and share their exceptional achievements. Together we can break barriers, overcome prejudices and create an inclusive business world where everyone has an equal chance to succeed.
Who can participate ?
AIl small and medium-sized companies headquartered in one of the 22 Arab countries that are active in the field of Al or use it in its day-to-day business and have demonstrable experience or projects in this field.
Participants must be of an SME established by one or more persons with physical or mental disabilities.
The SME must be in any business sector and have achieved demonstrable success.
Steps
Interested participants register with DEPAR and then submit a detailed description of the SME, its founding history, milestones achieved, and challenges overcome due to disabilities through the button which is visible on the top left of this page after logging in to the DEPAR account.
Applicants are asked to outline their vision for the future of their SME and how they plan to contribute to furthering inclusion and awareness of people with disabilities.
Submissions should include company credentials and other relevant documentation to demonstrate the credibilitv and success of the SME.
What happens if you win?
If you win, your company will receive a sponsored invitation to attend the second Arab SMEs Summit in Morocco in the fall of 2023. During the closing event of the summit, the winner of the Award will be publicly announced. The winner will have the opportunity to present themselves in front of a large number of representatives from the fields of entrepreneurship, business, innovation, research and politics. Throughout the summit, you will have the opportunity to network with other SMEs and potential investors.
We will also feature the winner on DEPAR showcasing your company to many more entrepreneurs and innovators from across the Arab region.
What criteria will be used to select the winner?
The winning company will be selected by a jury consisting of representatives from DEPAR, ESCWA and external reviewers. The basis of the decision will be the following criteria:
Entrepreneurial vision and innovative strength.
Proven success and growth of the SME
Overcoming barriers and challenges due to disabilities
Impact on the community and promotion of inclusion
Sustainability and future potential of the SME
Deadline for submission
3rd of September 2023
