Description
Established by the United Nations in 2001 to examine rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies and climate change, the World Urban Forum (WUF) is a dynamic and participatory platform that encourages discussions and critical discourse on urban development.
WUF12 will take place from 4 to 8 November 2024 in Cairo, Egypt, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
Theme
Under the theme "It All Starts at Home: Local Actions for Sustainable Cities and Communities," WUF12 will explore the transformative power of localized actions. More information on the theme of WUF12 will be made available soon.
Partner-led events
The heart of the World Urban Forum thrives on its diverse community of stakeholders. Applications for hosting partner-led events, including participation in the Urban Expo, are now open.
About WUF12
WUF12 is convened by UN-Habitat and co-organized with the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. WUF comes back to the African continent for the first time after its inaugural session in Nairobi in 2002; this will be the first time that the event is held in a megacity.
